The launch of this story has been eagerly anticipated in the Karen Millen design studio.
It really starts the key trends for Summer 09, towards a softer way of dressing for day that is more focused around separates. This will get us all thinking - instead of the ease of putting on a dress and being ready to go, this season we'll need to experiment with mixing and matching a range of tops, skirts and trousers to create a softer more relaxed look.
A key piece is the versatile fluid silk satin pocketysafari shirt is a must-have investment piece, working with our newpleat front cropped trousers, or the pockety shiny tie waist skirt later in the season with the silk trousers in the campaign pictures. The big problem is which colour of shirt to buy - the khaki or lime which have just launched, or the vivid orange or champagne from the next collection.
